Pest Inspections

One of the biggest threats to your house is from tiny pests called termites that live in wood. It is not unheard of to have termite damage in some houses where removal runs into the tens of thousands of dollars. Depending on moisture levels and climate and location of a colony, it could take three to eight years before the signs of an infestation (serious damage) to your house is apparent. If you don't catch them early, you might be in for large repair costs. Undetected termites can structurally damage a home in under 12 months.

Because termites mostly live underground or in the walls of your home, you are unlikely to see the termites themselves. They can not be detected with the naked eye if they are in a wall cavity or obstructed by building material. Traditional methods of termite detection such as prodding or tapping a timber beam with a screwdriver is only successful where timber is accessible.

Our thermal imaging camera may detect termite and other thermal related activity the naked eye can not see. A thermal imaging camera is utilised to detect termite and pest  'heat signatures'. This camera can also detect other 'heat signature' related damage such as rising damp, water leaks from plumbing, and moisture damage.

Building Inspections

We inspect structures using engineering skills to determine structural soundness and compliance with specifications, building codes, and other regulations. Inspections may be general in nature or may be limited to a specific area, such as electrical systems or plumbing.

The most common is the Pre Purchase inspection which is required when purchasing a property. This inspection is very thorough, looking at the structure of the building, fences, pools, plumbing, garages, out buildings and sheds, landscaping and provides evidence of damage or the potential for future problems that may occur.

Using our drone camera, we are able to see water damage, corrosion on the roof, rusted gutters as well as structural damage such as missing or loose tiles, flashing around chimneys, flue damage and missing bricks etc.

Our reports are detailed and provided to you very quickly. Hit The Mark also prepare "Expert witness Reports for NCAT hearings. Our customers keep coming back-take a look at our google reviews to see what our happy customers say about us!
